Anyone going to the Ryder Cup?

I was told you are not aloud cameras and mobile phones throughout the event.

So I just rang up and they are allowing hand held cameras on the training day (Thursday) which hopefully should be fun

Wish I was but alas no. I keep seeing "hand held cameras" being mentioned, does this just mean no Tripods? Get some pics up if you do get some.

You are allowed cameras on practice days but not on match days. They will body scan you on entry.

I'm not going however my eldest daughter has been at Gleneagles this week for the 2010 Junior Ryder Cup.

USA won if you wanted to know.

Yes I assume it means no tripods which is no biggy I will only be taking 70-200 anyway.

Wet should make it more interesting! I will just get my brother to hold a big brolly over my camera and sacrifice myself!

Dinners, lets hope we can hold our ground then. Had a look at a couple of bets but I cant see anything worthwhile :/

Lucky enough to have been there today, although both teams only really played half a round each, so not that much to see. Took my P&S, rather than dSLR, mainly down to the expected rain, which certainly curtailed the photo opportunities, although quite a few dSLRs were about, and to some extent I do wish I'd taken mine.

Ah well, back again on Sunday! :)

I like this shot from yesterday...it's Tiger Woods preparing on the tee, surrounded by umbrellas. With all his marital troubles of late, the writing on the left hand umbrella struck me as slightly comical.

I don't think Monty trusted his buggy driver either...
