Yes
So we can now all discuss what the MP has said without being in contempt of court.

Do we care where he has been putting it. It is not my business and not newsworthy really.

I Agree, but really do think he has blown this further in to the public eye than it would of been if head fessed up & took it like a man instead of trying to use his wealth to hide behind.

I think it is more the tabloids stirring it up in order to sell more papers.

No we can't. We can still be held for libel and contempt of court.
An MP can say things in Parliament under the protection of "Absolute Privelege"

TBH even though it's everywhere, I'd rather it wasn't thrown about willy nilly on here. We do still have to protect the forums from any possible legal proceedings.

The man is a moron. If you want your private life to stay private don't go messing with some d list nobody from Big Brother. It will only end up one way - in the papers.

It just beggars belief celebs whining about privacy being breached. You have no private life. You are a celeb. If you don't like it then quit and go do something else that doesn't involve shouting 'look at me, look at meeeee' the whole time. And it is also pointless moaning about breaching privacy when you have been breaching your marriage vows. Forsaking *all* others was the deal. Not some others. Behave or put up with the publicity.

to me, the only time an injunction should be served is

a) a matter of national security could be breached

b) something that could affect criminal proceedings, i.e. If splashed all around the media, finding a fair unbiased Jury may be difficult.

Because x has put something somewhere where maybe he shouldn't , so what? If you don't want to get caught, don't do it.

Just because you are a celeb does not mean that your life is open for everyone else to have an opinion. He plays a game that he loves. It just so happens that he is very good at it and plays for a high profile team.

Some celebs are famous for doing nothing (Katie Price / Kerry Katona etc) and just want to be in the public eye, usually shagging a footballer gets them stardom!. These are the ones that should not complain about their lives being analysed in the papers.

Nobody knows the whole story. Could be that Mr X stopped a friendship growing out of control when Miss X wanted more then Miss X decided that she wanted to sell her 'story'.

One thing that really gets my goat is people presuming that because he is a man he HAS played away.

Oh and MP's using their parliamentary protection like this also annoys me. If MP's don't like the law then change it, don't flout it.

The insanity is that the 'Imogen' case has overshadowed all the other super-injunctions. While some of them are for miscellaneous kiss and tell stories, there are some business related ones that are probably of more interest.

However, setting aside this current debacle (god knows he should have sacked his lawyers, the twitter lawsuit is insanity), my objection is that they are tools for the rich to prevent bad things about them being published, in effect creating a two tier justice system.

MG but he has been playing away, not a manure fan by any chance?

These people want it all their own way, the individual who cannot be named even though he has been named, has an image and no doubt numerous sponsorship deals because of the image he portrays, I would have £1 on it that he only wanted the injunction to protect this image.

I personally think it's great this has come out, may even make a few think twice, but only those with more than a few braincells so not too many of them.

Yes the wag wannabees are as much to blame, but that is how culture has gone, they see they can make a living out of getting their bits out and having an affair, just turn tv on, even have channels that show this  what jordan did next, kerry whatever, that rubbish that was on about Essex and the Chelsea crap ( I mean the program not the football that is played there).

It's easy money, until these people start getting paid what they are worth ( how is somebody who plays a sport worth more than somebody who is in the emergency services/military)? Then this will carry on, hopefully without them being able to buy the silence.

Rant over.

Cripes, how time flies, it was back in November 2002 when some chap called Beckham tried something similar.

Generally because sportsmen/women are uniquely talented unlike other 'trades'.

This idiot deserves everything he gets. Just becuase he earns £200 grand a week he can't pay for any sort of silence. He was caught with his pants down, simple as that.

In future, don't do it, but if you have too, don't get caught.

So somebody who kicks a bag of air around is more talented than a surgeon?

One law for the rich and another for the poor.

Thats what *****s me off!! Couldn't give a dam who it is, Fred, David or Ryan.:annoyed:

They can also be used as a means of protecting the identity of children.

As regards Mr *_*, non event of the Millennium for me. Who shives a git?

Uniquely, yes.

But that is all relative
I have no interest in football
should I be unfortunate enough to be in a RTA
I know I would rather have a surgeon on my team
than some over paid primadonna
kicking a bag of wind about ;)

but who would others, who like sport, have try and score the winning goal....a proven sports star or a surgeon who is overweight and possibly postpones the effort because he is late from a round of golf...............lol.

Oh by the way Marcel...seeing as you are a city fan...the next start to be outed.....is

Bareth Garry............

I think there was a sarcastic smiley missing from Tom's post!

Seriously £200K a week (if true) is well over £100K a week after the tax man, the NI man and anything else..........

Can purchase your dream camera bag and contents on a couple of days wages!

Apparently Imogen Thomas the z list celeb at the centre of the alleged affair is now moving towards a music career.
She will be only doing gigs in Manchester

Yawn - sickipedia has updated........... and it's Giggs not gigs for the comedy factor element, which is lacking even in the original.

Marcel has already said he would rather that this name wasn't banded about all over TP just go look at his post. ( sorry to stick my 2ps worth in)

the bloke whom ever he is was stupid but then she was no bloody angel either knowing he was married so please she is no better than nim and i am sure has made a bit out of all this..

I was going to get all serious about the media but I'm way too chilled now. So.
A Thai (or Malay) at work said I look like Mr Giggs. Apparently he's a legg-end in Asia. He's still not pretty (like me) but he's rich (not like me) and as Mr Wilde once said (a while back) the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about!

Turned into an unmitigated PR disaster for Mr Giggs, if he had done nothing it would have been and gone in a couple of weeks.

Its just a shame that a talented footballer didnt give any thought to 'protecting the privacy of his children and family' when his one eyed trouser snake was straining at the leash.
Just like Zidane, at the end of a glorious career his head will be hung in shame.

Maybe it'll be pierced and held up on a chain or something?

perhaps the mods could just add that name to the swear filter ;)

and on the topic at hand who really cares that a premiership footballer may have been unfaithful - its like discovering a dishonest politician, a greedy lawyer or an unpleasant traffic warden
