Anyone out there submitted work to Rugby Club Magazine?
I've had an email off the club i take images for stating that a rugby magazine are interested in doing a feature on the club. The magazine require 5 images, at least 300ppi. They will credit the images, whopee dee doo da.
Anyone had paid work put their way after submitting? They do a mix of Union and League it seems.

Had a look at their online mag and the back cover made me grin, a full page ad for 'Action images' I wonder if that was for free!

They are making money from the mags so i am expecting to be paid for the images if used. I know the arguements on here about not giving images away for free, all i want to know is if someone has had images used and how much the rates were.

the big spread on widnes are by a TP member :)
 
Don't see a credit on the images so i'm assuming he/she was paid for them.
Would like to have a chat with them;)

sorry presumed you saw the credit.. ste jones KT8Photography.. its there on the big double page spread

Hi Len, i've had some in there a while ago from Leeds Carnegie, they did pay me but probably best not to say on an open forum, if you want to know how much and what for then PM me.

as a point of interest.. unless its a set standard and public knowledge.. then I never tell anyone how much i earn at a job or get paid for a pic... well.. just about no one :)

telling people my business at that level has backfired on me more than once :(

Only asked to see if anyone could tell me the going rate as i'm out of touch with that side of it. I may have worded it wrongly.:lol: Will edit OP

Thats my reason and ive explained that and why to Len in a PM

It's a moot point but worth noting that what one guy gets paid will bear no relation to what someone else gets paid for the same work, i think n one of us are nieve enough to believe we all get paid the same and thats the exact reason why most publications dont publish their rates, they pay what they can get away with, and yes sometimes thats a big fat nothing.

No, i haven't heard from him for a while.
I'm still available though. Have accreditation just for the club this year.

Papers have backed off on wanting Championship leves games as they get most of them sent in free, Dave was going to do Dewsbury for both trade papers last week but one of them told him they had someone who sends freebies from that club so no need, :bang: i did it for him just for stock though and to build up images for Featherstones yearbook, done that the last 2 years and its been a good thing.
 
The Widnes spread is all mine, Not prepared to disclose payment details (As I never do) but rest assured, They were not freebies. Anyone that knows me will know that. I even had my local this week get in touch as they could source no freebies elsewhere, Trust me stand your ground, they all pay if they want them enough. My locals reaction to being advised to get in touch with me for images in the past was.... "Oh we dont use him as he charges"

Scorpions didnt do so well last season and are off to a not so good one this season either. So maybe not newsworthy enough?

They've not got back to me yet, but i will be standing my ground if they do.
