daggnammit new Sigma 70-300 APO has toppled my current main bag(Lowepro Nova 190), yes I have managed to just about get all my stuff in but weight is also becoming an issue so I am after a backpack, trouble is the Lowepro I had before(SS 200) and the other Lowepros I have seen have the unprotected top compartment which is great for your pack up etc... but no good for camera kit..

so anyone have any recommendations..

main area to house

Canon 450d + kit lens
Sigma 70-300 apo
Olympus E410 + kit lens
40-150 lens
Helios 44-2 58mm lens
rocket blower

space for flash & nifty (future purchases)

so I dont think this is a huge ammount as they are small bodies and lenses, but I cannot seem to find anything suitable in backpak form..

LowePro Flipside 400... Mine holds a gripped 7D with 70-200mm on it and a gripped 40D with a standard zoom on it at the other end with room for other lenses/flashguns around them. It's also got a tripod holder on the outside and it's the only one of the Flipsides with an All Weather cover.

Tamrac Expedition 6x. Holds a 1d Mk2, 50d, 100macro, 500 mirror, 50mm, 85, 28/70, 550ex - all in the main body. Batteries/chargers(for the 50, not the 1D)/cards in top cover and a monopod down the side. Cant lift the damn thing though!! :)

The lowepro Mini Trekker AW takes my gripped 40D, along with a 17-40, 70 - 200 F4 is, 100 - 400, 28 - 135, 105 macro, 430ex flash plus accessories. Heavy but it all fits.

Tamrac Expedition 8X plenty of room

And you can always get the wife to carry it

Lol, any excuse to buy a new bag!! I'm doing the same since my new lens arrival too! I'm looking at the lowepro primus or vertex range. The problem with buying a bag with space for more stuff is you will find any excuse to fill the gaps!!

cheers for the replies people, by chance I dropped into Jessops and found this.

and it seems to be pretty darn good for the money,(looks very similar to the Tamrac when opened) holds everything with more than enough space for future purchases, being a Lowepro/Crumpler man its lacking some of the style and features that I am used to but value for money its ace, it will certainly make my cycling/walking summer days out more comfy..

I got one of these, surprisingly roomy, can fit 2 x 30d's with small lenses, 70-200L, nifty fifty, 2xConvertor, 400mm Sigma, charger, spare batteries, various leads. Bit of a Tardis really, I think its the best bargain bag going.

Dave.
