Is it worth visiting? I’ll have 2 hours tomorrow nearby, I don’t want the worlds best photos but I’d like to see some kingfishers, will 2 hours be long enough? And will a 70-200 be ok too?

I’ve never been so any tips or advice is welcome, thank you

Others will be better placed who visit regularly but I have visited there last month for a hour one evening not sure on kingfishers as most of it was scrapes with waders and guls but a lovely place to visit as cafe looked nice too so worth a visit in day in sure just not sure about kingfishers ?

I only say kingfishers because their website specifically mentions them, I will have a walk around anyway and see, thank you

The perch in front of Bittern hide is probably your best bet for a kingfisher at the minute, the reed bed screen is closed off because of bitterns nesting nearby - the perch in front of that is closer. I'm not sure how regularly they are being seen, autumn is usually the best time for them at Old Moor

I’ve visited half a dozen times. As with bird watching everywhere you have to be patient - you might not get what you want on your first visit, and sometimes you can be lucky and spot something extraordinary when you least expect it.
