Hi,
I know nothing, and am not from Barcelona, but am wondering about a network..
I have 2 pc's, and get my internet via a microwave system. If I buy a router, can I then plug it in so that it gets my internet signal, and then splits it so that both pc's can access the internet at the same time - is that how it works ?
Will both pc's run more slowly? (ie when opening pages etc)
I am unsure if wireless will work, as we have thick walls, so am happy to run a few cables around - what sort of cables are needed ?
If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated !
Cheers
Steve

Thats should work Steve, but I always struggle with networks even though everyone always tell me they are simple :p Hopefully someone who knows what they are talking about will help you.

But in theory you buy a router and then "network cables" (dont know what there propper name is) and plug one end into the router and the other into your network card on your computer.

The one question you need to look at is how your microwave connection hooks into your PC - is it connected to the network card or USB? If it's the network card then you can plug it into the router and then run network (RJ45) cables from the router to each PC.

If your net adapter is connected via USB then the easy solution is to connect both PCs to the router and share the internet connection on the machine the microwave is hooked into.

Both machines will get access and share the available speed between both as it's needed. If only one machine is transferring data it will get all the speed, if both are then it will be 50:50.

pxl8 - Thanks - I'll have a look when back in Spain and may get back to you..!
Cheers to you both !
Steve
