Since the admin are indecisive and can’t decide on the first subject for the competition we thought that we will offer you a chance to vote on the theme. We have managed to narrow it down to just four options but the final choice is up to you..

Once the topic has been chosen we will give you an email address so that you can post your entries. Each round will be administered by one of the admin team only and this is likely to change throughout the different rounds.

Below is a detailed outline of the rules and how to enter, please read them and ask any questions in this thread only. I have tried to be clear on the rules and what to do but what I think and write tend to be different, so this is your chance to question away ;)

Rules and how to enter

Your entry should be reduced to no bigger than 600 pixels along its longest edge. This includes any borders that you may or may not want to add. The size reestriction will help protect the images from being stolen/copied and also ensure that all pictures are viewed under the same restrictions.

Post processing and “Photoshop” work can be applied but please do not put your name or forum alias on the picture anywhere, the whole of the voting system relies on members not knowing which entry belongs to which member.

Once you have your entry ready (only one per member and once submitted no changes will be allowed), send it via email to the address provided and include your forum name. Any entries received that are to big, have names on the photo itself, do not have the members name included with the email or that are received after the closing date will be rejected.

Once the closing date has passed, all the entries will be numbered and displayed in a “Competition Gallery” for all to view. All members will then have 7days to vote on their favorite three photos using the forums PRIVATE MESSAGE system. Again these should be sent to the admin that is running the competition for that round. Votes for your own entry will again be disallowed and anyone suspected of cheating will have their entry removed from that round of the competition.

After the voting has been completed, the top three results will be posted in a competition thread and the photos in the gallery will have their numbers changed to the names of each member that submitted them. We would then like to have members comment, critique and generally offer words of wisdom on the entries. This is where we can all learn the most as feedback in invaluable. This will also be the place to discuss technique and setting used to capture the photos.

The winner will then have the honor to select a subject for the second round of the competition and the whole process will start again. The success of this depends entirely on the forum members, so your efforts and contributions are essential. Hopefully it will grow and develop into one of the webs most fun, helpful and successful photography competitions.

Pity people isn't in there somewhere.. not many people shots in here. Anyhooo... I made my vote.... let's see what happens. :D

If you win you will be able to pick people for the next round  Thanks for voting and I look forward to seeing your entry.

People.... Curves.... /goes away to look up forum rules about glamour shots.... :D

How about coloured lines with geometrical curves? :D

Colour is currently holding of the opposition. I set the poll to run for 7days so there is still time for the vote to swing. :D

The poll is over and the votes are in, we have a unanimous winner.

I will be handling the running of round one so if you have any specific questions that you may not want to ask on the forums I can be contacted by Private Message. You will also need to contact me by PM with your votes once the entries are displayed. Any other questions/comments can be posted in this thread.

Good luck to everyone..let the fun begin.

Very good

Don't forget gentlemen that entries are to be sent by email only and will not be displayed till after the closing date of the competition so it will appear as though nothing is happening for a short while. Make some time, get your picture taken and sent in ready to be admired and judged. 8)

Remember guys that you have till March 14th before this round of the competition closes.

Everyone is welcome to enter regardless of what you perceive your skill level is. It’s for fun mainly but you must be in it to win it ;)

Don’t be shy, get your entry emailed to competition@thephotographyforums.com before the closing date.

Any questions can be posted here or I am quiet happy to answer by Private Message if you are shy.

Can I suggest you make a new thread showing the competition is running, I found out just now by chance as I read your last post Steve. I hadn't seen the original post about it.

Thanks Steep

I will start a new thread specifically for the competition and link back to here for the rules and guidelines.

Thanks for raising that point :)

I live to serve :D

So far I have received 11 entries into the competition. I have just sent a Private Message to each member from whom I have received a entry so if you have not received a PM and have entered, then I have not received your entry. If that’s the case then please resend your photo so that it can be included for this round.

To the ones that have still not entered, you still have 2 days left to get that killer shot submitted. :) Remember it’s only a bit of fun so have a go anyway, you have nothing to lose.

I’d like to thank all those that have so far supported the first round of the competition and can assure everyone else that we have some great submissions already. I am sure that everyone will be as equally impressed as I am by the excellen standard that you have all set.
