Rome, before it flooded ... is there any hope for this picture??!!

I'm after some hints and tips for processing this picture and hopefully making it look a lot better!! Feel free to have a go yourself ...

Had a quick play with white ballance, Contrast and Levels, increased saturation abit, you would get better results with the original.

[Albedo]

Had a shot at it, just for fun really - am certainly no expert at PP. Just cleaned up the sky and played with some of the levels. Also sharpened quite heavily to get a bit of detail out of the Colosseum.

But here are two versions:

Thanks Albedo - the sharpening does make a difference, esp in B&W, though I think I have another shot from a slightly different angle that is sharper to begin with - prob worth starting with that. Post the results when amended ...
