Rollei Compact Traveler Mini M 1

I found this on one sales site (Photospecialist) that lists the head as part of the kit!

The set includes a professional ball head, which can be rotated 180 degrees and secured with only one screw. Simply attach your camera with a supplied quick release plate with an integrated spirit level for precise horizontal alignment. The legs of the tripod can pivot upwards and downwards and the middle column can be mounted in reverse - for tropospheric works in micro and macro photography this is a very important feature. With the Rollei Compact Traveler Mini M-1 you will never miss a photo opportunity during your holiday and during your outdoor activities.

Does anyone know if the ballhead can be removed from the above tripod?
Yes.

It is attached with a larger screw thread, not the standard camera base plate one.

Thanks guys there is some great info there. Pound coin, (sorry don't have your name) do you mean the thread is not the normal 3/8 UNC one? I did write to the manufacturer but never got a reply.

Thats a good question, I’ll see if I can measure it. It seemed bigger than that, but it was late!

I would be very surprised if they used a non industry standard screw thread size for the head mounting................afteral if the head is removeable it could potentially be used on any make of tripod/monopod!

As for the visual appearance of the size, on a smaller tripod it might likely just "look" bigger ;)
