Hey,
So as you might have noticed from my other posts I'm new to this landscape photography thingy and as such finding certain types location can be a little hard.
Something I really want to shoot is a rocky coast line, somewhere I can get right on the shore line and get my feet wet. Now ideally I'd like it to be close, I live not far from Liverpool but work in Liverpool itself, somewhere I can head to when I finish work. So somewhere and hour or so drive away would be grand.

Well at least it will be sunset for you in the west of the country! Unfortunately I can't recommend anywhere from experience but I can suggest zooming in on Google Earth and working your way along the coast then doing image searches of the rocky looking bits...

There is some nice coastline on the Wirral from Vale park to New Brighton that is a bit rocky also in New Brighton, there are some nice mossy rocks full of rock pools albeit a bit muddy , also check seaforth rocks.

If you can read a map, then www.bing.com/mapspreview gives you an Ordnance Survey map overlay as well as overhead photography that's generally of higher quality than Google. I'll usually scout out any area I'm visiting this way.

Looking at Anglesey, looks like lots of places. I could do a sunset shoot with a days Marshalling at the Anglesey circuit.
Added to list :D

Ask Alf Branch on this forum. He's always taking pics of rocky shores down in that there Cumbria place.

Thanks Ulfric but I reckon that Wales place is closer to Liverpool it takes me hours to get that far south:thinking:

Though a trip to the lovely beaches of west cumbria is not to be passed up IMO.

As much as I love the Lake District when you're looking for coastal scenery it's a no brainer...North Wales.... the Isle of Anglesey and Llyn Peninsula have coastline to rival most places in the UK, less photographed than other areas too especially the llyn peninsula

I'm looking at Camlyn Bay on Anglesey. More then a trip after work but I've got a week off coming up so will make a day of it or few days camping.

Good for the bird life, not the best stretch of the coast for scenery though...just head a couple of miles east to the section between Bull Bay/Cemaes whilst you're there..I'd recommend calling at the RSPB reserve at Conwy on your way past too
