Ritter night photography course - any experience?

Never seen or heard of them  so cannot suggest what to expect, but from the look of it they are going to be talking and demonstrating night time long exposure work

So make sure you have a tripod and trigger for your camera  that will really help you out on this course

If that is the basis of the course may I recommend to give yourself a good start to give my guide to light trails a read

Out of interest since I couldn't see a mention of price, how much have they charged for this course??

Welcome to TP

Thanks for the suggestion about your guide to light trails , it's a very useful read.

Yeah it means having to invest in a tripod, but I was going to anyway so not a problem.

Price was £140 and I think they take 4 people at a time, so a good earner for them, but like I said it was a gift so I can't complain.

Blooming heck, and to think I've done a few mini freebie lessons for fellow TPer's  that is a good earner for them, maybe I should do something in this area

Well, I am in Aberdeen, and nothing is free (or even cheap) here. Well, I just hope the price reflects the quality. I'll report back once I've done it, so far the booking process isn't very smooth.

I'd be very interesting in hearing what you did on the course as I find it very interesting at that price you only need to be running 2 courses a week to have a nice income

Right, I attended the course last week on an exceptionally cold Aberdeen night and am reasonably positive about the experience.

First thing to clarify is the price, I think £140 must be what he charges per course, and given it was though Group On, it works out a lot less per person, so my mistake on that.

The guy running it (Maciej Zalewsk) was an OK teacher, pretty slick (very much a fashion background) but once the practice started was very approachable and helpful.

It was fairly basic I guess, which was about right for me, and I'd certainly be a lot more confident to do play around more now. So would I recommend it? Yes if you're a complete beginner in terms of photography or night time photography, probably not for anyone who'd done any general photography courses or had already experimented with night time stuff.

Thanks for the info. I was suppose to be on this course last week but it was cancelled due to the weather. Where did you go ?

Bad luck, the night I was on the weather was perfect (but freezing). We started at Marischal College, moved on to Robert Gordons College, then to His Majestys Theatre. At which point they were running late and I had to leave, but they planned to carry on into Union Terrace Gardens and then back along Union ST.

I'm guessing you'll get a resheduled night?

Sounds like a good route. We are rescheduled, but just have to pick an available night. The next one is looking like middle of March. I know Friday's are available, but really dont fancy sharing the town with drunks...
