He was brilliant in Lovejoy a series I really enjoyed.
And in some early films he was a great villain - often exuding the threat of imminent violence.

Still watching the Lovejoy repeats now, one of the best characters in the show.
He has quite a list of credits to his name.

A very good actor, one of those whose face people knew but not his name. Diamonds on Wheels was the first film I saw him in and I always remember him rather than the "lead" actors
