RICOH GR IV officially announced!

I dont think a lot has changed a minor upgrade on the sensor and a new lens, it doesnt look like we will be getting any sort of weather proofing or additional dust protection which is a shame. They have had a lot of sucess with theses cameras for years leaving the design the way it is but i would like to see some sort of innovation. Be also good to see if the GR X version will be released at the same time. I would love to see a small viewfinder in one of these one day you never know.

No viewfinder = no way

I've got to admit, I struggled to see how they could realistically improve on the GR3. For me, the improvements are really all just marketing. A good way to continue to charge high prices for something that does what it does really well. I don't need to upgrade from GR3, but nice to know they are still interested in cameras, and good for anyone wanting to get into the ecosystem as there is something shiny for them. It's also good for existing GR3 owners with lots of cash who can splash on the new model for the incremental improvements that (to me) aren't worth the bother.

I would have wanted full frame and a viewfinder with "ditching video" as a way to find space for it, but that would have been a ridiculous wishlist. The GR3 is a brilliant camera and I wish them all the success in the world with the GR4. thanks for the headsup @d00d

I "upgraded" from a GR ii to a GR iii and iiix. Whilst I appreciate the improvements which have been introduced in later models, I also greatly miss the built-in flash. I've now got a mini Godox flash to use with them, but it's fully manual. I would have liked to have seen a return of the flash and seeing what Sony can do with their RX100 series of compacts, a viewfinder would have very welcome on the GR iv.

Tilting rear screen would have been nice. OK it would gave added a mm or maybe 2 to the depth but I think most could accept that.
