Hi guys

( decided to split into weekly thread as you can't tell i've done a new week when my old thread was called "week 1 - 26" )

heres my effort.
I'm not fully happy but i think i've had a good go at it.

CC welcome.

PS thanks to my wifes 'crafty' skills, and also because of this i am not prepared to re-set this up and re-shoot LOL.

Thanks wifey.

CHOPPED....

I have no idea how you did this but I like it. The lighting's a bit harsh but a good effort. Just a thought but the shadow is quite interesting. Could you make more of it against a smoother and lighter background without the plate?

Either your wife went to hogwarts or you used something like fishing line? I dunno, great concept though.

You can change the name of your thread at any time, edit the first post, click on "advanced" and you get the option to change the thread title.

Thanks for that, i did look at the edit post, but never looked at advanced.
Cheers.

We cut it, threaded it onto cotton and hung.
Then cloned out both cotton inbetween carrot and in shadow.

I know its not perfect but this is my first 'go' at any personal project.
Hope i'm inproving in a few weeks.

Nice one Rich i was looking forward to seeing what it was going to look like when you told me i agree without the plate may have been better.

I think it's a great idea well executed.
Brilliant shot! :-)

Great idea. Not sure if it's threads of carrot root I can see or fishing line down the back. Either way it's something different and a very creative take on the theme.

Its just threads of skin you can see.
We used very small beads to seperate, and i Pshoped them out inbetween carrot and its shadow.

Thanks for the comments every one. Really appreciate it.

Well done Mrs Ricky
Very creative and a very clever interpretation of what could have been a boring subject.

Well done to you too Ricky.
Seamless cloning out of the cotton and the harsh shadow really adds to this shot.
I'm not too keen on the background and I would have liked the plate to be a little lower so that the shadow didn't fall across it, but that's me being picky and it doesn't stop it being a very good shot.

Excellent thought put into this one. Agree about the harsh lighting, but to cast a shadow on a black background I guess you need a bit more than normal.

That doesn't detract from the fact that this was excellently set up (rather than cut and manipulated in post processing) and well executed.

Ian.
