Richmond Park

Thinking about a visit to Richmond Park (for the deer mainly), I want to arrive early and not spend all day finding the best place to park. Anyone any recommendations of where best to park?

Last time I went, we parked in the car park near the cafe. Free and easy nconsidering you will be there early.

Just looked at the map and to be honest I can`t remembr what gate it was. But the un-made stoney car park is on the right just as you drive into the park itself.

This is it. Zoom in and you`ll see the small car park by stag lodge stables.

That sounds very much like Richmon Gate, and the car park is at the lodge.... probably the best place.. Though it is worth a good mooch about.. Deer are usualy on the rugby field in the afternoon!

no Richmond gate is the other end of the park from that cafe, and for deer the cafe end (roehampton) gate is the better end of the park

If you park at the Roehampton gate and turn left you will come to Beverley Brook which is good for birds.
I don't know where you live but you could also consider Bushy Park, some great deer there as well.
