I’m not sure if anyone else has already seen this new campaign, but I’ve backed it early on as I think it’s an excellent looking new light meter option;

I also spoke to Matt earlier today and he’s sending me one of his three test units so I can mount it to my Snapshot camera for The Photography Show if anyone wants to try it out before thinking about backing the campaign [emoji1303]

That's a cool looking bit of kit but it's a bit dear for me I think.

Yeah, I think it's a little more expensive than most of us hoped but I'm happy to support someone trying something new. Once I get the test one next week I'll share some thoughts on here.

I'm thinking the same thing, it looks like a very interesting idea. I shall muse and possibly ponder.:)

Does he say anything about the metering approach? Average, centre-weighted, etc?

Nice idea, a different approach to its closest competition, the much more expensive Voigtlander VC II. The 3D-printed case looks a bit rustic, but the display is nice. The Gossen Digisix 2 and the Sekonic Twinmate are priced somewhere between the Reveni Kickstarter price and the VC II, and with incident metering are more versatile, but although they can be shoe-mounted they are a fair bit bigger than the Reveni.

Hats off to the guy for coming up with a meter so small and practical but if i had need to purchase a new digital meter, I think I would stick with a reputable make.

It's centre weighted as far as I've seen. I'll try and find the post where he described it.
Presumably the "field of view" of the meter is the same regardless of the lens. However, since all my 35mm cameras have meters, I think the use case for me would be MF... the lack of meters has been one of the factors discouraging me from exploring MF more. In general I think you'd be dealing with fewer focal lengths with MF cf 35mm, so the fixed field of view might well work out not too much of a pain...

Neat idea for rangefinders. CA$125 is about £70.

I put these pictures up on Instagram the other day, showing the Reveni Labs light meter on my new Snapshot. I’ve been testing the meter out for a few days and am impressed with it so far. It’s seriously tiny!

Interesting idea, but I won't be backing it.
Reasons:

I'm happy using the meters I have and don't find them large or cumbersome;

the cameras I normally use either have built in meters or lack an accessory shoe;

the angle of view is rather larger than I'm accustomed to, which could cause me problems of adjusting to it - it's 50% greater than the angle of my Lunasixes.

Even so, I can see the advantages for others, and wish him well with it.

If I want a seperate lightmeter then I want one with incident capability. This little thing looks ingenious but not worth the price to me.

Incident is almost the only meter technique I use, since the last century even, with my Weston meter.

Having said that, this is a very interesting development.

Having been testing one out for a few weeks, I’d say that it’s clearly not as precise/full featured as more expensive meters. However, for someone who is looking to take simple, quick readings of the scene it’s great.

I’m generally a bit of a lazy photographer (not that I can remember the last time I actually exposed any film!) and have always used a light meter app on my phone. I’ve always managed to get good results using this, even with slide film, so an equivalent simple meter, without needing to use my phone, is a great option for me.

The time it's taking ya' to get these film holders available to us, it seems that some of that laziness has spilled beyond photography:exit::exit::LOL::LOL:

PLEASE for crying out loud, don't report this….I don't need another "holiday" :police::LOL::police::LOL:

Lol, if anyone else posted that I might have taken offence [emoji6]
