im looking to have an A3 calendar made of different images from this year, this will be the first time ive done this and was just wondering if i need to change the resolution of the images before i send them off? what is a good resolution for the job in hand? all very new to me.

cheers

A good rule of thumb is for the images to about 300 pixels per inch at the printed size.

So if you have any images that don't fulfill this then the quality may start to take a hit, but it's surprising how good images can look at 150 or 200 pixels per inch especially if they are viewed from a few feet away.

You can always up scale any small images first before sending them to print.

The quality won't take much of a hit as you noted David. 200ppi for an A3 is more than ample.

That is 3307 x 2339 pixels (7.7Mp)

I always size & dpi myself before printing. My local printer asks for 305dpi [for some reason] so I export as that as standard & then just resize in CS to the actual inches dimensions for a print or pixels dimensions for a calendar for example.
