Resizing pics with LR

When exporting picture's with LR i have it set to resize them to 800x600 but they never turn out that size, i always get something like 800x453 or similar.

Is this normal? It dosen't do it with PS.

Assuming you are shooting normal 3:2 ratio with a conventional DSLR, then LR would take the 800 pixel dimension as the largest value and resize the shortest to 533 or similar in order to keep the ratio the same.

If you resize an image in Photoshop to 800 x 600 do you not see some distortion taking place?

I knew there was a simple answer, and yes now you mention it there is distortion if i use PS.

Forgive my ignorance but would my DSLR size of 3264x2448 be a 3:2 ratio as I often batch resize to 800x600 in PS.

Yours is a 4:3 ratio gatecrasher.

(you could export as 800x600 without any distortion)

The Olympus E-500 is a 4:3 aspect ratio sensor so resizing to 800x600 will retain the aspect ratio without distortion.
