Resizing for passport Photos

I need to update my drivers license photograph..

Now call me a skinflint but its £5 to get the photos done in a machine and I only need 1, not 5!

So I have a studio set up, lights, white BG etc and I'm thinking of getting the lady to take the photo, resizing it to passport size, putting it onto a 6x4 and printing it at asda for 30p. I can then cut it out of the 6x4 and send it off!

Anyone know what size I need to make the image and is it as simple as just resizing it in ps and, putting it onto a 6x4 sized background in ps and printing it?

good idea. i got so annoyed when i got my last batch done.
the wife said "well we need to get passport photos and we need them quick so lets just get them done at timpsons and be done with it". i duly agreed to it, handed over £18 ( me, wife and son) they used a pop up back ground and a crappy kodak p&s . the white balance was WELL off and the quality and lighting was crap! i had a moan at the guys in the shop and really got the arse!

next time im doing it myself!
