Elements 8 arrived yesterday as an early drop off from Santa,

I think ive figured that when editing, in order to save to the necessary pixel size I have to click 'resample image' (not sure what does constrain proportions or the scale styles boxes are for yet).

Now, through reading a few other posts on 'resize' I think ive learnt that the pixels dont really matter unless I want to print stuff, but if I want to put it on the forum for help & crit then I need it to be 800 max on biggest edge... but also that it must be a certain size file (as i'll be linking from photobucket but hoping to actually display the photo on the forum does file size still count?) so when I save the pic it shows a 'image options' slider that I can move up and down until it fits forum requirements (?) - when I do this does that alter the quality of what you will see on the forum, so I presume I should keep it as near to max as possible?

I also get asked if I want to 'save in set' with original or as a copy - what do most people do - as I preume one is for internet use and one for possible printing?

Lots of questions, sorry. All help appreciated - always been crap with technical stuff like this but over the next year i'm aiming to improve. Neil

You probaly want to keep constrain proportions ticked (that keeps the same shape image just bigger or smaller) Scale styles affects how a layer style is affected when you resize (I'd leave it ticked too)
Image quality will affect how it looks to a certain extent but will be pretty hard to see any real difference of shots posted on the web, you may have a save for web option (probably by the save as) this will help in making the file sizes smaller, I don't save as sets I prefere to keep shots for the web seperate but it's whatever works best for you.
