Been looking at getting a battery pack for my 580EX MkII

I've seen this on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/External-Batt...14&_trkparms=72:1301|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318

Does anyone have any advice on these? its obviously knock off.

Is there any real advantage on going the true canon route? It's around 1/4 of the price for this.

Anyone got one? Looking for a little bit of advice before I go ahead and make a decision!

Thanks,

I've asked about these on POTN, and also PM a guy who had ordered one. As far as I can see the main difference is the Canon uses 8 batteries and the clone only takes 6.

The E-bay image does not really show the plug end of the lead, which has two plugs so the pack will fit other brands of flash, so I guess there will be a dangly bit when using it.

Got it a week or so ago. Used it about 4 or 5 times so far.

Can't really complain. As long as you got a good set of batteries in then it seems to work pretty well. Recycle time is probably on par with the non-generic.

Just be sure BOTH the flash (I am using a 580exII) and the batterypack have good batteries in it when you go to shoot. Rechargeables tend to drain quickly so be sure to have them "topped" off.
