Replacing the Sky

get a picture of sky then select what you want to keep and copy it over to the sky picture or you can use a mask and paint out the sky

Let me know how to do it if you are successful :)

Thanks,
Al

There are many way to skin a rabbit but a simple method I use is to make a bigish selection of good sky using the lasso tool, feather by say 50-60 pixels, go to edit hit copy, go to edit again, hit paste this will put your selection into a new layer. Now go to edit and select free transform and stretch the selection to cover the bad bits, if the stretch doesn’t look right instead of using transform simply use the move tool and cover the burn, or a mix of both. Change the blend mode to multiply. Then erase any odd bits. Flatten the image. Done.

Picture one is strait out of camera; two is modded in a similar way as per the explanation.

This explanation uses simple methods, but shortcuts could be learned and employed.

Had a go at a shot of Blenheim Palace, Method was basically google a picture of the sky, download, open photo's, create 2 layers of the background photo block layer 1 and magnetic lasso sky of layer 2, delete sky, deselect lasso area, drag sky scene onto the layer pallet of background image, reselect lasso area, invert selection, delete excess, view all layers and edit if necessary, flatten image, done.

You've lost some of the detail from the roof though. Just watch out for that.
