ok took this a while make on a muggy night in summer sky was crap now i've had a new book for xmas and it expains how to change sky which i did but what if anything can i do to get rid of halo from round the trees?
 
Where are you hosting the image that you're trying to post Michael ?

You could try zooming in and burning and/or blurring, it's better to feather the selection and better still to contract it before feathering.
The results are rarely totally convincing.
 
thanks for reply what do your mean when you say contract it sorry still learning getting there but boy its hard work lol
 
If you're using Photoshop, why not use refine edge?

I'd not try and mask off the hills either.. let the sky overlap and fade it out with a gradient.

I'd definitely use refine edge around the woman though.
