ok its been a few days without my a200 and im losing the will to live im usual out eveyday, for those who dont know i have sent it back to sony as it would not focus right ,however i think it might of been me that broke it as i put a old tripod on it and i wound it up to far anyway
i belive thst sony will come back to me a say tuff not covered
so i have been looking at replaceing it but there doesnt seem to be too many a200 around should i go for the 230 of should i am higher ?
ill have to keep it in the sony range as i can use all my other lenses and a200 repaired as a back up ???

Why not go for an A700 then? I believe some places have them going at a good price. I previously had an A700 and absolutely loved it.

i went into currys today and picked up the 230 and truth be told i dont like it

Same here, I don't really like the feel of Sony's new cameras. Keep your eyes on the Classifieds section here, deals always come up! The other day I saw an A350 with the Sony 16-105mm Lens go for 400 and I've seen a few A100s go for the 120-150 mark.

according to someone who is usually in the know re. Sony DSLR plans the A5XX series is replacing the A3XX series & the A3XX will disappear.

debrito, what's your typical shooting style?
The A450/A500/A550 have better high ISO performance than the A200 but part of that has come at the expense of low ISO performance. Also they use CMOS sensors so there's a slightly different look compared to the CCDs in an A2XX/A3XX.

well im doing a lot of landscape at the mo but i like all aspects i have been out nearly everday since aprip last year so keen is not the word i have 2 young kids and id love them to keep still for 2 mins so i could brush up my portrait stuff , what diffrent in look do you mean ?

If you were happy with A200 I would stick with it.

Although if you are thinking of upgrading a S/H A350 would be a good buy. I currently have A700 as my main camera and recently bought a A350 and lens on here, keep your eyes open. Very impressed with the A350

I also dont like the "feel" of the new Sony stuff, although the A500 I was looking at the other day was quite a nice camera. A380 and new A2XX just doesn't feel right IMO

What lenses have you got at the moment?
Also if the A200 comes back fine, I suggest carry on using it as it is a decent camera for the Sony.
But if not, go either A350 or A550....depends on your price range.

As I have the A550, it is amazing but the handling might not be as well as the A100/A200
So try it out first before as well ;)
