Hi

I have 28mm polycarbonate panels at the moment and AFAIK my options are
28mm Polycarbonate
Glass - will need a new roof due to the weight
Lightweight aluminium tiles with insulation below and plasterboard inside
Lightweight aluminium or plastic skin insulated panels - easy to swap 28mm thick
As above but 28mm thick for the "glazing bars" bit and 75mm thick for the rest of the panels

It seems that a firm called GreenSpace are the only ones that do the last option. They seem good but, although they are white coated I wonder if I will lose too much light

Has anyone else had experience of this and can offer advice or information?

TIA

Kev

Hmmmm, we had a similar problem. We decided to go for glass, which even with a tint is wonderful for light, BUT we also lost our roof vents, and hence the conservatiory became much too hot with any amount of sun. We therefore had electically operated blinds fitted, which also insulate. Temperatures are now much more reasonable all year round. Expensive (very), but we are very happy wiith the result. The room is also much quieter since the polycarbonate went - unexpected bonus.

I don't think there are many cheap options, and even replacing the polycarbonate won't be that cheap. I wouldn't have thoght.

Thanks for the reply and information
Glass is an option and they said that they could incorporate a vent. However due to the coated tint on the glass, to reduce UV, fitting blinds will invalidate the guarantee !.
As you say no option is that cheap but we feel that it will be worth paying more to get a space that we can use for more months of the year.
The Green Space option is said to make it warmer in the winter, cooler in the summer, reduce noise, not make it darker, cook your Sunday roast etc.
Decisions
