I want to replace my Sigma 30mm f/2.8 DN Art for my Sony A6000.

I love the speed of the lens for around the city at night etc, but I'm finding it's too wide for my liking. I took a lot more photos on my 18-135, but the f/5 at 50mm and f/5.6 above this kills the quality.

The Sigma was a sub-£100 bargain with fantastic quality and I'm struggling to find something longer which is in a reasonable price frame and equivalent quality.

The Sony 85mm is c.£450.
The Sigma 70mm Macro is c.£400.

Can anyone recommend a longer prime at a similar price to the Sigma 30mm please? Does one exist?

Thanks!

The Sigma 60mm 2.8 is a little cracker, seems the ideal option [I had the M43 version but it's same lens, different mount]

IIRC sigma make a 60mm f2.8 in the same series - try that. Otherwise there's nothing like those lenses near that price point.

Thanks both. I wasn't aware of that 60mm lens but have now seen it, and it does look good.

It doesn't have OSS built in however. I wonder if that will be a problem when shooting street handheld at night in fairly well lit areas? It's only 60mm after all...

We've got the old Sigma 50mm macro 2.8 and it's really sharp, failing that what about the standard 50mm 1.8? Cheap enough last time I looked. I seem to remember a 40mm lens, but I can't remember who made it.

I considered the 50 but don't think it's enough reach. I might do some testing and figure out if it is. I seem to have more options if 50 will do.

I use the M43 version of the 60mm Art and like it a lot as it's a modern equivalent of the popular 135mm focal length on 35mm fim. I imagine that on an APS sensor as a 90mm equivalent it would be just as good.

Another vote for the 60mm f/2.8. I've got all 3 Sigma f/2.8s, the 19mm, 30mm and 60mm and they're all great.
