I'm not sure my 70-200 2.8 mk II is working as it should, it seems not to be correctly focussing and I'm starting to lose an increasing amount of sharp images, in some it's blatently locked onto the wrong point.

Obviously it's a dear lens (for me) and it's starting to frustrate a bit.

Now, it is my main lens for non league football so I need a quickish turnaround. It's under warranty so that's not an issue (hopefully!) but wondered what the general turnaround times would be?

I do appreciate that I need to chase up the suppliers, but what have your experiences been?

You will massively slow down the process if you go to your supplier... go direct to the manufacturer.. ie canon .. all the supplier will do is take the lens from you.. send to canon.. get back then notify you and you ahve noi idea how urgent they will be... theres no reason not to contact canon yourself as you ahev the guarantee...

I am with canons CPS so I get a guaranteed 2 day turnaround...or else... dunno what its like not using cps though

BTW its more likely to be your 7d settings rather than the lens given the description of your problem.... IMHO that is..

I had an issue with the IS unit when I first purchased it. It seemed to stick and you could see the image moving in the viewfinder even though the lens was stationary - it cleared itself when I turned the camera off and on again. It's kind of knocked my confidence in the lens tbh, that's why I want it checked over.

ha right.. in that case yes.. def get it checked.. i would package it up and send to canon elstree first thing monday... dont matter how long it takes.. confidence in equipment means a great deal..I know that for sure..

maybe phone em monday morning.. there ok on the phone :)

Funny you should post this, I've had a few doubts about mine recently but put it down to poor technique cause every now and then it just comes out with a pure belter! I also think my IS isn't right, when I look through the viewfinder the image moves slightly and makes me feel a bit dizzy looking at it..........sounds daft!

I think I'l try a few test shots.

dont think i have ever used IS on mine..might be a good idea to check:)
