Hiya folks

Had a really clear night in southport so decided to attempt a panoramic of Blackpool.
but I'm having a couple of issues.
1: The tower isn't straight. But I've not had a proper go as I'm on holiday and using a laptop
2: I'm having difficulty in removing the black lines that are 1 3rd and 2 3rds in. Although there may be more as its from a 12 shot stitch.

Any tips

Lovely panorama!

1. Three theories here.
1a. Tower not straight = horizon not level. So maybe you just need to level it. Though to be honest I think it's a more subtle issue than that.
1b. Maybe the tower was towards the edge of one of the component shots and it's been affected by lens distortion. Correcting the lens distortion before stitching might fix that.
1c. With the horizon at the bottom of the frame, maybe it's suffering from lens distortion in every shot, and the stitching software is struggling with it. Again, correcting the lens distortion before stitching might fix that.

2. The dark lines look like an exposure blending problem. Maybe you had less overlap on these pairs of frames, and the edges of the shots are affected by a bit of lens vignetting. In which case fixing the vignetting before stitching would help. Otherwise tweak the blending settings in your stitching software to make it a bit more aggressive.

Whenever I'm stitching a panorama, I always run the images through Lightroom first and use the lens profile correction thingy. That fixes distortion and vignetting and generally makes life easier for the stitching software.
