Hi. I'm after a remove able strap for when I shoot on my pod (espesh when it's windy!) Nikon d7100. Something reliable. What do you use?

I use two different straps (not at the same time!) depending on what I'm doing.

OP/TECH neoprene wrist strap when I the camera is mainly in hand. I got this one from Amazon - only around £7 and more than secure enough to hold a 5dIII and 24-70 (I've tried 'dropping it' over the bed to check as the strap is very light as I was unsure - bit it holds up to a lot). I've hooped the connector though the original strap mounting point - it's small enough to be left there when the main strap is disconnected.

The other system I use if the BlackRapid straps. I've both the across the chest 'sling' style (RS-5) and the double. These mount to screws in the tripod mounting point - the connectors can be left in place as needed. I tend to use this system when I need a hand free - it's a lot better than a neck strap as it distributes the weight across your body and not just around your neck. This is a really secure system and can comfortably hold a big DSLR and Lens combo (in fact you can mount to the lens tripod mounting plate to give better balance).

Both excellent systems for those of us who don't really like using straps, but need to from time to time.

*** Edit - Just twigged what you meant by 'pod' /duh I'm slow today - Chris has the answer above!

optech has a nice system, and reasonable prices

carry speed is also good but expensive and hard to find in uk

Op Tech

Just unclip the strap leaving the two short lengths attached to the camera.
