I have a Nikon d90 a jessops 360afdn flash unit and a Yongnuo triger set. I can't get the triger to work....when I take a shot the red light on the remote trigger attached to the flash lights up but the flash does not flash.....Please can some one let me know what settings I should have the camera on and the flash to make it work....????????
 
is the flash switched on properly and in manual? Is it set to slave optically?

just quick thoughts, but I often miss simple things when playing with new toys
 
how have you connected the trigger to the flash?

Make sure the flash is in manual mode not auto or slave.
Check the channels match on transmitter and receiver.
Hit the test button transmitter to see if anything fires.
 
try using them to fire the camera maybe, that would tell you if the issue was flash or trigger based
