Remote trigger for external canon flash 430 exII

So I need a remote trigger for my 430 exII flash on my canon 550D since the camera doesn't have a built in remote setting for external flash. Any idea on what brand or type would be best for mine?... I'm a keen amateur and learning to play with lights, at the moment i can't use my external flash off camera because there's no remote settings on the camera...

I would have though something like the Pocket Wizard Plus II to be ideal although i guess there are cheaper triggers although i cannot say if they are any good, but some get good reviews, Amazon.

There are lots around these days.

Best manual trigger with the very useful bonus of E-TTL pass through is Phottix Strato II, £100 a set. Hahnel Combi a very good basic manual trigger at £50, and Yongnuo RF-602 or 603 for a bit less.

Pocket Wizards Plus series are very expensive and nothing special, unless you need compatibility with existing PW triggers (same frequency).

Another alternative is Canon's own ST-E2, particularly if you want to use E-TTL II functionality. Secondhand, they can be bought for around £80-100.

I'm been thinking about the same thing and I'm also looking for advice. Have the 430EXII and a 550D. Would only add on the extra requirements it to be wireless and also that I could trigger a studio flash as well. I'd like to preserve the E-TTL if possible but budget is a limitation
