Remote shutter for 40D

Can someone please point me in the right direction of a good remote (without wires) shutter control for a 40D please.

Get a Phottix... they are fab

Here is a picture of the wireless reciever mounted to my S5 Pro:

Mine is called the Phottix N8, so you'll probably want the C8. It works well - be warned the wireless tranmitter is really small so keep it safe!

Phottix vote from me too. (get one that fits to your hotshoe... the other type hang down from your remote socket and can swing in the wind)

never thought about that! well it will hang if you dont want it on your hotshoe. the hotshoe is just a support really there are no contacts as such.

the advantage of not being on camera is that in some instances you may want it up a bit higher as the camera may be out of sight.

I use the wireless Phottix for my Nikons, works well and isn`t silly money.

same here
I love mine
just remember to turn it off between shoots, it doesn't have auto power off.
the lovely trick with it is the ability for that transmitter to be the manual local release too.
and if you have a remote unit on the top of you're camera as well as wanting remote trigger then it's probably on a tripod anyway, so quit complaining
