Does anybody remember the Million Dollar Home Page? I remember it going up ten years ago, and it was all the rage. For some strange reason I wanted to see if it was still going, and it is. But a good few of the links are either dead, or now link to advertising domains. People paid silly money to stick their website on it, but nothing ever came of it!

Yup remember that

Some of the links on it were of a dubious nature

An ex of mine had one of these, no idea how much she made from it.

I thought the only person who cashed in, was that Alex fella.

I'm sure she stole the idea, maybe other people did too... I'm not in touch with her anymore but if I was I'd ask her how much she made from it. Deffo had ads on it when I saw it. Other than the ad square thingy at the time she ran a couple of on line businesses and being on line she probably just copied the square idea to see how it went.

I tinkered with websites myself, back in the day it was the thing to do. We all thought you bought a domain, set up a website and you made millions. Way back in the day long before facebook etc ..

She sells stuff (or at least she did at the time) on her own sites and also used to build sites and get them up and running and then sell them off as going concerns. She was quite a whiz and made a good living from her flat, running too and fro to the post office.

I remember her complaining about how bad ebay was getting with all the changes that favoured the buyer even if they were dodgy and the scams they'd try and pull to rip her off. It all seemed far too much hassle to me but I suppose people still make a living this way, it's certainly not for me and hearing about the scams was a real eye opener.

My mate was the techy guy that built the site back when I lived with him in a shared house. I remember him telling me this idea his mate had, I said it will never work....
