Hey I also use it and found it quite useful. It also gives you feedback on the quality of your specific lens which would identify problems to fix if you had any.

I found out today what I already suspected, that my 85mm / 1.4L focuses perfectly when using the rear screen, but is front focusing when using viewfinder. I was planning to put the camera on a tripod, pointed at a sloping ruler, in order to do MFA. I am going away next Friday so have no time to spare. Have seen mixed reviews of FoCal. User error or camera compatibility?

I have played with the settings within it to make it more accurate, planning on running it again tomorrow with a better focusing card (if it arrives in time) before using the camera in anger at the weekend.

my lens is pretty spot on set to 0, and is sharp, but the canon 1.4tc mk2 was noticeable out, my 2xtc mk3 is getting sharper results. Bore out in the tests. But I won't say much about FoCal until I seen some shots. Don't want another weekend with so many missed shots, although most will be with out the 1.4tc this weekend. FoCal does show up I have a good copy of the lens. but I may need a new 1.4tc.

Well I am pretty happy with the results to. Redid the tests today in better light and improved the 1.4tc

the combo results
