Registry sorter-outer for laptop

The Lady Wife's laptop runs Windoze 8 and I've never got round to installing any sort of registry cleaner/checker-upper or whatever on it to help keep it running sweetly for her.

What's reckoned to be the best such thing, preferably of the install-and-forget-about type? All that's on it at present in addition to whatever's built into Win8 is Avast Internet Security and Thunderbird

don't bother, they can cause more bother than theyre worth.

and unless youre installing and uninstalling a load of crud they wouldn't do anything anyway.

I'd agree with Neil (which may surprise him) but normally the registry only needs cleaning if you're selling software to clean it! Provided your missus isn't going to repeatedly try out & uninstall software then no need.

Ccleaner works fine for me in terms of routing out loads of temp. stuff, millions of restore points etc. and even the registry.

Whether it actually makes any difference to the speed of the PC is open to debate though.

Ccleaner here too, but only once in a while or if i have a problem.
