Reflector mount

Hi all,

I have my first shoot with a real person next Sunday (just a bit of fun with an old friend).

The problem I have is that I only have a single strobe and so I will be looking to use my 5in1 reflector to fill in some shadows. It will only be her and I so I am wondering how I can hold the reflector in place.

I have a lightstand which will be used for the strobe, and a spare tripod which I was thinking I could do some DIY fix to hold the reflector in position, but I cannot think of what I can do.

Any thoughts?

You could try something like this:

Or alternatively, just pick up a clamp and tape it to your tripod. There some other useful tips on this site, so may be worth a wee look.

That's pretty clever. I'm going to try that myself. I've just been using a chair as a prop.

Simple and its works, Saves on £30 for the stand

Get her to hold it under her chin - if your doing portraits you can come in just above the reflector - no one will know

Otherwise I would go with the tripod idea.
