Because of the recommendations I have read on this site, I decided to purchase a redsnapper tripod and I am so pleased I did ......first impressions....cannot fault it....superb value for money.
Thankyou all .

They're cracking kit for not very much money :D

I'm looking to buy my first tripod - want something fairly light to carry but not really flimsy and budget fairly tight. Been reading good things about Redsnapper on here so am thinking about it but hard without actually seeing one. Which Redsnapper model did you get/would you recommend?

283 or 284 (depending on how big you want it to collapse down to) with RS-H12 ball head.

DO NOT over extend the legs...they will come out and you will have a hassle putting them back in, with all the bits and bobs! :bang: Yes, the instructions do say don't over extend...but it can happen!

Thankyfully, the guys at Red snapper have supplied me with spare parts, so its back as new!

How do you over extend the legs? Mine seem to have a stopper when they have got to the end of their travel.

They are great value and very sturdy but for me that was its downfall. Mine was just too heavy for everyday use and ended up being left at home as it was just too much to carry. I now have a giottos vitruvian (the metal one) and its smaller, lighter and has a built in monnopod. It cost more but I can now actually use it!
