Hi,

Should still be on your hard drive somewhere, windows doesn't fully delete. The files only disappear once they are overwritten by another piece of data.

This is how many people with dodgy photos get caught, remember Gary Glitter he thought he'd deleted his holiday snaps when he took his laptop in for repair.

Worth a look at a recovery programme, or have a look at this info for Windows 7 ( if that's what you use )

Mike.

Mike is spot on.

If the photos are really important and you must have them back, then I would advise that you don't use the machine, get the hard drive taken out of that PC and connect it to another and use recovery software to try and retrieve them. You don't want to start overwriting the parts of the hard drive where the photos may still be hiding.

Then you'll have to run recovery software on the main HD and hope Windows' swap file hasn't written over the data.

Done a system restore, folder is back BUT no files :-(

Chances are, doing the system restore has actually just made your chances of recovery far worse.

Try any of that bunch. Chances are though, all the use you've been giving your computer, especially system restore (which was pointless if you've only just deleted them as they wouldn't even be on your last restore point) has caused the computer to write new information over the sectors that contained your images.

Whenever you accidentally delete something, and do not have a back up, it is really important that you do not use that hard drive. As it was your C: drive and have n other computer, then it was important that you stop using the computer and pull the hard drive to be analysed on a different machine.

With luck, Windows will have already allocated a large block as a swap file, and wouldn't have needed to write over any more data - there may still be something there. Run Recuva and see what it pulls out.

Stop arsing about though... the more time you spend using your computer, the less likely recovery is.

Yes, that's the point. You need to get this drive into another PC as soon as possible. The advice everyone is giving you is the only hope you have of recovering these files.
