Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to record the Internet to my pc? There is a concert by Richard Hawley on the radio 6 website and I need it on my iPod !!
I have Audacity but can't fathom out how to do it with that prog. Please help!

Typing record live internet into google gives you 259,000,000 results, I'm sure there is a answer there somewhere.

Two ways to do this:

1. Download something like Audacity (linked to earlier) and then patch a mini jack lead from your computer's line out, into it's line in and hit record!

2. For better quality, you will need something called a loopback adapter, which is a peace of software that allows you to record your computer's output. Soundflower in the Mac platform can do this. I'm not sure of hand, but ASIO4ALL might do this on Windows.

I'm wondering if a packet capture app like wireshark would "capture" the audio stream at source.

I've used it with good results on some internet streams but not tested it with with radio 6.

Thanks all ! Sorted it- used Audacity in the end but had to tweak a few sound card settings to get it to work- then had to download "lame" so I could convert recording to mp3 format. Quality is superb!
