A friend is doing a wedding. He is using 35mm colour film. He wants to get 50 10x8 prints done, and wants a good deal. I think he wants gloss.

So, on his behalf I'm asking, can anyone recommend a company where my pal can get his 50 wedding prints done at a good price? Probably a postal service I imagine. Pal lives near Wakefield, West Yorkshire (In case it's relevant). Thanks.

Okay, what price would one be looking for about, considering they are wedding photographs? Must have some quality about them. My pal says he got a quote of £12 something for 50. Sounds a bit too cheap. And got quoted £100+ at ASDA- I think.

Yeah DSCL are great for all sorts of enlargements at cheap prices.. I have around 50 24x18 (iirc) and at a pound each you really can't go wrong..

Okay, I think my pal has maybe offered to do the wedding photos for a price that makes DSCL prices eat into his profit! :c)

For 60 prints (24 + 36) DSCL charge about £90. He still tries to get a better price, but I'm not sure what his options are. If DSCL is great value, I guess his options to reduce his costs is not that great.

You're He's not going to beat DSCL.

And if DSCL won't fit within your your friends quote .. then it's a good job you're he's not doing this as a business :bonk:

My pal (truly it's not me, it really is my pal) is lumbered with his cheap quote. I'm know he has done weddings before, but I'm also guessing he might have gone up a size with the prints. And that's what has caught him out.

He says he would use his digital camera, but he's not confident with it, like he is with his 35mm.

He's probably just need to chalk it up to experience and make sure he gets his quotes in before he puts them out next time..

DSCL.. uploaded an order at 00:45 this morning (a pretty mixed order of sizes and finishes), I was informed it was sent to the printer at 08:14, and then it moved to dispatched at 13:49.. and that's pretty typical of the service I've had from them. I should have the prints tomorrow or Thursday depending on the post.

I think they have a voucher code deal at the moment that will get you 50x 6x4 prints for free, might go someway to helping your friend out on any smaller sizes that are required.

http://www.snapmad.com/index.php A 7dayshop partner website. If you order anything from 7DS, you'll get a 10% off email if ordered within 7 days of the 7DS purchase. I just bought a 30x20 canvas for £29.99 delivered. That's inches BTW, and it's BIG.

FWIW, 7DS are listed with TopCashback, so if you click through TCB (free to sign-up) you'll get a rebate from 7DS. Also, evilBay are listed too. It all adds up over time.

Snapmad price for 50+ 10x8 is 70p each plus free postage for orders over £1.99.
