Recommendations please for a 1 bed villa holiday in Portugal/Majorca or similar

My partner has given me her requirements for this year's holiday and as usual it's a honey!!

We are looking to holiday in a 1 bedroom villa, preferably with its own pool rather than shared, in a quiet location next to/close to the sea. She doesnt like long flights so Portugal/Menorca/Majorca are just about ok for flight times.

From what I have seen so far, package operators don't seem to like dealing with small villas and for couples and have very few if any on offer.

Do any of you guys have recommendations of where to start looking or what websites to try for booking independently as I think this will be the way to go.

We have a pretty open mind as to location as long as its quiet and peaceful.

I've found a few good places on there, however I think you'll struggle to find a lot of one bedroom villas to choose from with private pools but its not impossible.

For rural Algarve properties these people are very nice to deal with. Most villas are about 10-15 min drive from Algarve coast but in lovely quiet locations near the historic town of Silves. I've stayed in quite a few of them. http://www.villasinthealgarve.com/

If you go to the Algarve, Auto Jardim offers hassle free car hire, highly recommended.
