After owning my 450D for around 3 months, I'm only just starting to take it a little bit more serious and learning what functions do what.

Im or was a great believer of leaving the images as they are straight from the camera. I always thought that if you wanted a photo to be a certain way/style then the image should have been shot like that.

However now after using the site more and seeing some of the "greats" images before and after processing, I'm interested to learn how slight processing can affect my end results.

For example I took this yesterday, it was a bit of a candid moment as "Victoria" was being changed.

It looks to me slightly OOF?

What would you do to it to improve in processing, examples would be great.

Nice shot. Maybe a tad OOF but only a tad.

Its always worth trying a B&W conversion...

Or a little cross processing for adding quick interest and vibrancy

Well, nothing great here but I suppose what I'm saying is try a variety of different approaches. Sometimes just grabbing a bunch of photoshop actions (if u have PS) is a great way to save time.

Quick play

Desaturated
Vignette added
Split toning for slightly Sepia ish look
Bit of fill light and contrast added
