Can anyone recommend me a waterproof GPS to use for sailing (or other sports). I want to be able to track speed, distance covered etc.

Not fussed about map display, but might like the idea of putting in longitude and latitude waypoints and getting pointed towards them.

I don't have any advice about GPS (we only had a larger one for the boat), but even if you get a waterproof one get an Aquapac bag for it - they are a fab bit of kit.

I have two, one for a small point and shoot camera and one for a VHF radio. Both are 100% waterproof, both float, both have straps so can be fastened to my lifejacket or attached to somewhere on the boat (I have a jet ski so it is more pertinent to keep it strapped to me in case something happens and I get separated from my ski, but my Dad had a 24 foot motor yacht where falling out is less of an issue!), and they have both survived around 10yrs of regular use, so really worth spending the £20 or so on one.
