I know it's a bit off topic, but it does say "other technology".... :)

I want a cheap TV. It needs to be able to stream YouTube and have a full web browser. I'd also like to hook it up with Bluetooth headphones so it needs some sort of audio out and preferably a USB to power them. Built in speakers etc aren't that important.

Questions....

  1. Am I better buying an entry level Smart TV or a dumb TV and adding a Chromecast or Firestick?
  2. If all I am doing is streaming YT etc then would I actually notice any better quality if I pay the extra for 1080 over 720?
  3. Are all the cheap ones really the same set so I should just buy whatever is cheapest?
  4. Is everything wifi now? I don't really want to pay the extra for Homeplug because wifi in my house is actually pretty decent.

Get an LG something or other. They seem to have got all that. I tend to just wander into richersounds and give them a list of what it needs and they find matching models. Most come with a 6 year warranty too so it's a no brainer.

Sorry. I should have put the word "cheap" in bold :)

Whilst I'd pay what I need to, it will be going in a spare room to stream exercise vids. So.....£200?

Oh and I was hoping for maybe 32".

I'd choose features and ease of use over quality.
