Hi

I want to buy a shooting table to use it for stock. I have a light tent but find it too limiting.

What's your recomendation below £80. I don't want to spend too much for what is esentially a piece of perspex. I've been looking at the Calumet Desktop Shooting table and at this one

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ex-Pro-Phot...photography/dp/B002UD779C/ref=pd_sim_sbs_ce_7

and at this one

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=467198433&pf_rd_i=468294

What would you buy? If you know of a better option in that price range please let me know.

I've got one that looks similar to both of those. Looks good value, works fine.

It's not very big but by the time you've got a couple of lights set up, that's all the space you've got in a domestic environment.

I've got the Calumet one, purchased via their Amazon store which was about £8 less than the shop price :)

It's pretty small (mind you there's a clue in the name :naughty:) but ideal I managed to shoot my 300mm f/4 lens on it without any problem. Build-wise it's well made and folds up nicely for storage - really all you could ask for just over fifty quid, delivered

Thanks

Are these tables supposed to be lit from below if you want to get a white background? Isn't the Calumet too low for this?

I have a Sigma 500 DG Super, two YN-460 plus two umbrellas (one reflective and one shoot through) , remote triggers and reflectors.

What would be your setup with these equipment to get a seamless white background?

Thanks

Yes and yes.

If you want pure white underneath and also behind, you will need two guns - one under and one behind the background, and experiment with positioning and power settings. Getting it right needs careful balance but it can be done. Main problem I have is holding the guns in just the right position.
