With Christmas fast approaching, its time to update the gear :)

Can somebody recommed me a bag big enough to carry -

  • Nikon D40
  • 18-55mm Kit Lens
  • 55-200mm VR
  • Nifty Fifty
  • Cokin P Series Holder
  • Couple of Hitech square filters

And a few other small bits and bobs. I quite like the idea of a backpack though. Again, I dont want to break the bank, about £50? Second hand is always good too. Where should I look for second hand?

:D

I havent bought the fifty just yet. I'm just starting my Christmas list! Tripod, lens and backpack on the list so far :)

I Have just about the same kit as listed and i use a lowepro orion trekker II and it fits all the bits and has enough space to keep the d40 body with the 18-55mm lens on it and has room in the top compartment for other bits and bobs

The Crumpler bags are good, I use the Pretty Boy XXL, plenty 'o room in there! :)

i've got a second hand one for sale on these forums, see if thats any good for you :)

I'll have another nosey later when ive more time Wez. First dibs if its what im looking for! :)

I use a Lowepro mini trekker AW.

Normally carries:
30D with 24-105IS
50mm f1.8
Sigma 10-20
Tamron 28-300
Sigma flash
Sigma 1.4 TC
2x polariser filters
remote shutter cord
plus extras eg spare lens cap, cleaning cloths, waterproof cover. Some room to spare

Got mine free with a 2 year subscription to Practical Photography although I think this offer has lapsed.

Bag gets my recommendation.

My Slingshot 200 usually has my 400D fitted with a 17-40L, a 28-135 IS, a kit 18-55, my happy snapping A345, spare batteries, spare cards and last but not least my partners A560. Cracking bag but needs to be full I find to stop the camera in the main compartment collapsing the separators. I'm thinking about something a bit bigger though as I've just bought a 70-200 and the bags a bit too small for that plus the other lenses.
