Hi there, I'm new to these forums but I hope you don't mind me coming here to ask for some sage advice :)

I've got approximately 18 APS films that need developing and putting on CDs and after recommendations from your past experiences on who I could send these too?

They are films from back in my youth when I went travelling across Europe, so are very dear to me. For a long while after I hadn't the funds to get them processed when APS was more mainstream, so they have sat in various drawers for over a decade now!

The time has come to get off my behind and get something done about it!

Any help is much appreciated.

The Photo Express price list is not clear, so I suggest calling them to confirm, but I'm pretty sure they'd do APS process plus scan to CD for £5 per film, same as for 35mm. They still do the 50p per film discount for TP members; just write "50 p discount per film, TP username Fennie" on your order form. IIRC there's a £1 postage charge for the results, you pay postage there, but you could probably get all 18 rolls for one "small parcel" price of £3.20 first class (same as one roll :( ). I've been very happy with the quality of the scans, better than the "low resolution" scans from most suppliers (2000 ppi vs 1200 ppi).

If they are important, then I wouldn't consider sending them to anyone other than UK Film Lab for development and scanning. You might consider emailing them first to see if they suggest any adjustments in developing (e.g., one stop push) given that they've been sitting in a drawer for a decade.

Gents, I thank you for your help. I'll try and give photo express a ring to enquire. :ty:

Thanks. I've emailed them to ask for their advice.

DSCL also do APS by the looks of it if allllllll those others fall through :) I've never used them for film services though I'm afraid

Club 35 also do APS according to their website. When I lived in London, I used them for 35mm colour developing and scanning to CD. I found the service that he did was excellent.

Not quite, a couple of years ago I sent them over an APS film cartridge to get a complete set of re-prints, but it was returned to me with a note saying that they no longer did APS services. They don't seem very good on updating their website as a couple of times they've changed the prices (on the form) but not updated those on their website. That's about the only negative I've ever had with them though, as they do a absolutely great quality, highly reliable service other than that.

Dare I mention a chemist who has a presence on many high streets? On the rare occasions that my MiL fires off a roll of APS, she drops it in to them for D&P. Probably worth checking how recently their machine has been serviced or had its soups renewed though.
