Hi folks
Just been given a Manfrotto monopod, but the top base screw is too big for the thread on the bottom of my cameras.

Can anyone recommend an adapter and where to get one please?

Thanks.

Ebay is your friend (unless you have a good local shop). Eg THIS for one way or THE OTHER for the other way.

Are you sure the monopod isn't fitted with a dual screw. The ¼ inch thread being inside the 3/8 inch thread which is spring loaded.

If you can state the exact model of the Monopod that might inform any replies that bit better?

Your saying that the screw on the top of the monopod is too large to fit the camera tripod hole infers it has an adaptor fitted for attaching a head.

Yes some are spring loaded but others will simply have an adaptor screwed on......

Having said that.................if the monopod is much older it might be intended only for attaching a head

Ok everyone, time to have a good laugh at the newbie.

When I first inspected it, I did think it looked like a twin screw but nothing moved, turns out it's a bit rusty and with some friendly persuasion the larger outer thread has come loose and now springs down to reveal the thinner one I need :headbang:

Thanks @L320Rio for suggesting this otherwise I would not have realised it was just a bit stuck !

I've never seen a dual screw.
