Hey all,

I currently own a Samsung 226BW 22" LCD Monitor which runs at 1680x1050. I need something with a higher screen res, 1680x1050 is ideal for a 20" but no for a 22".

I have tried the search function, but I haven't really been able to get the results i'm looking for, so I thought i'd make my own thread..

I am looking for:

* Size: 22"-24"
* It has to be a flat panel
* I'm not bothered if it's glossy or not, either will do (quite like glossy actually)

* Budget £200-250

The monitor i've currently got my eyes on is:

Dell SP2309W 23" Widescreen LCD Monitor
and
Dell TrueColour E248WFP 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor

I wouldn't necessarily buy from OCUK though as I can usually find the stuff cheaper from other retailers...

What do you guys suggest?

Regards

Jay.

That LG one above is the one i'd highly recommend. They have dropped in price dramatically, may even go and order myself a new one right now :)

The Hyundai one does seem quite nice, although it is quite far out of my budget.. It's great that it has all those inputs though, although in the product description ebuyer have only mentioned the VGA!

I do really like these Dell monitors, from seeing the monitor in action the quality is great and they look the part too. This may be the one to go for..

Although, this one has cropped up as well...

Samsung T240 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor

... which looks very good!

My mate has this sung...it nice but I still prefere colours on my old trusty Dell ultrasharp 2407 ;)

but its a good price for this samsung:)

Thanks for the input guys.

I went for the Samsung in the end, i'll post up my thoughts soon :)

A bit late to this one but I recently bought the DELL 2209WA and highly recommend it....it's ideal for photo-editing as its an E-IPS panel so has much better colour accuracy than the TN panels, pretty reasonable price too if you shop around..

here's a link to one "glowing" review

Blimey, you don't mess around around with the decision making process.

I realise its too late, but i have the 23inch dell and it works a treat

I wanted to buy a new monitor ASAP to be honest. I had some ideas jumping around in my head of which ones I was interested though, wasn't just a 'click of the fingers' sort of decision :)

I wouldn't have gone for a 23" because i've read it's native resolution can sometimes be awkward for various things, i.e. gaming (not that I play that much anymore) and watching movies.

I did look at that Dell monitor, it's nice and all although the only Dell's i'd go for are the top end ones which are way out of my budget. £400+

From what I've read many of the Dell monitors seem highly related, regardless of cost...if colour accuracy is important then the Dell is about the only 22" option, together with the more expensive Lenovo...if photo-editing isn't a priority the Samsung monitors look an excellent choice

I have just bought this BenQ one. We use BenQ at work, at they are good. I really like the screen, great resolution, etc.
