Hi all,

In case any of you are on the hunt for some half decent rechargeable batteries, Lidl are selling 2500mAh AA batteries for £2.50 for a pack of four. :)

It's always handy to keep a spare pack in your camera bag.

I picked up 4 packs the other week and they tried to charge me £2.79 per pack but I got it corrected to £2.50.

The batteries are pretty decent as well I have a few sets in my flashes and recycle times are great. We just need Lidl to get some eneloop/hybrio/staycharged now.

also poundland ive found good for rechargeables, i managed to buy a £20 duracell 15 min charger and then bought a bunch of poundland AA's and they last just as long as the genuine except when the poundland ones are stored they lose there charge after a while.

Thanks for the info, but they are crap, I bought a set last week, plugged them in my charger and they are only 700-950Mah even after a "Refresh". They are supposed to be 2500mAh.

How did you work out the mAh from just plugging them into your charger?

I use Technoline BC-900 charger

Are you sure that's not displaying the mA being supplied to the battery during charge? Reason I say is that the display on that charger seems to show the mA not the mAh and the image on their website (http://www.batterylogic.co.uk/technoline/images/techno1.gif) says "Charging begins at 200mA...". To work out the mAh you need to get them fully charged and use them till fully discharged to measure the amount of milliamps discharged per hour. I think the "Test Mode" on the charger will do that for you but it would be worth testing it yourself just in case.

the "REFRESH" works

it will keep discharging and recharging the batteries until they gain their full capacity. When they are full, you can then display all infos by pressing a button.

Cowasaki made a good write up about this charger and some good batteries (eneloops). Its here in the forum somewhere, I'll try to dig it out... hang on

I've got that charger and I'm not sure about it's mAh ratings - I've had expensive Ansmann batteries and some said they were way over the stated mAh and some it said were well under. They all seemed to work the same.

Sounds like from other people using that charger that it isn't too accurate, if you can try working out manually and see if the results differ. If the mAh really is as low as you say then I'd take them back. Still, £2.50 for a pack of four rechargeables isn't bad is it?;)

Are the Lidl ones TRONIC branded with a grey body and a black cap?

If so, I'll be off to grab some more, I use them as my general use rechargeables and they're excellent.

My BC900 shows them to have a charge of around 2300MAh and thats in batteries a couple of years old ;)
